We should do a new year greatest hits and replay a couple of games that everyone really enjoyed and participated in. The quietness of this game has been frustrating.

That's why I am not playing this one. I fear I would have been too busy to participate properly.

I was quiet on purpose over the weekend because I could see my death on the cards and was trying to avoid it.

Especially as DavPaz and Trooper were wiped out in quick succession.

The Demented Elf knows who I am as he tried to kill me one night (and failed due to Don powers).

Gutted I didn't actually get to roleclaim as the mafia Don :)

Yeah, surprised Zaphod has missed that the SK knew who the Don was, which brings the list of suspects down. A lot.

With Sat being a law talking guy and all, can we look forward to tense cut and thrust debate?

I can't remember, but they spotted it soon after. Might have been that the SK would now know the Mafia Don's identity (something Zaphod is still ignoring). Which now of course means the SK is someone who didn't vote for Russ.

BTW, gospvg played a blinder. On the first night he also picked the Mafia Don, as well as getting rid of two baddies.

I knew there was something fishy about him ;)

Grim... is the person that turned this game around from an almost certain mafia win, and it's fitting in this game that he did it by not really saying anything :D

Hmmm... not sure of Zaphod, it's not like him to miss that the SK isn't a usual SK role, and they are effectively on the same side as the mafia.

Get your guesses in as to the SK.

It seems obvious to me, but that's just because I already know.

Thoughts on the ending? Grim... - is he right about server time?

I'm currently minded to call that a time out.

The server is four minutes fast, but you could say it was fast when you started the day and it's the same for everybody. But not if you're not looking at Beex all the time, of course.

Interesting point: when did the clocks go out of sync? When was the glitch that caused it?

I don't know. The chances of it being caused by a glitch are very slim, though - the time is actually quite a big security issue on computers.

Zaphod seems to think it was caused by the thing that took the forum down briefly. Was the forum clock showing the right time before then? As if it's a new thing, I have sole sympathy with him.

Not sure how that's possible if it were a router issue and the server didn't actually go down.

The forum time has always been the right time for precious Mafia games, as often it goes down to the wire.

What Myp said - the server stayed up throughout.

I manually changed the time on November 11th, so I suspect that's when it happened. Not sure how I could have been four minutes out, though.

Its a pain in the arse - i could have ended the day a long time before that - i just wanted other people to actually take part and spent minutes writing that post in case it wasnt Santaalien when instead I could have voted.

It seems 'unfair' that the fact that i'm looking at my computer time - counting down to going to lunch - the time on my watch / the time on my phone *all* of which are correct and the one that is fast is the one that counts.

Also if i go to

http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.co.uk/info/current-time/

And wait till that ticks over to a new minute then hit refresh on the page here its more like 5 and a bit minutes out - i did leave it to the final 5 minutes but not *that* close to the wire.

Any chance you can correct the time Grim... ?

I also thought that it was very apt for this game that if Santaalien was the Demented elf then he was going to be killed out of apathy because if any other people were around then they could have joined in and we would have voted out Bobby.

I also think if any other day went to a 'time out' then the wrong time would have been spotted - but every other one finished with a vote - Grim... you mentioned you think its been out since the 11th of November but i'm not convinced hard to tell since there are not many posts about timing but if you look at this from Gospvg

viewtopic.php?p=798084#p798084

Saying there was 15 minutes left when there was 13

Or this one from me saying 8 minutes left (when there was 7)

viewtopic.php?p=798086#p798086

That was the 10th , so the time seems to have been correct then (otherwise my 8 minute time stamped one would have been more like 2 minutes and Gospvg would have been more like 10)

I also remember sitting at work after 17:35 writing this one for Davpaz viewtopic.php?p=798975#p798975 which makes me think the server time went out much more recently.

As I've mentioned to both Curio and Grim... it just means for the next game if things are not going your way just change the time on the server - the day can either never end or you can just make it end if you want it to :-)

If they vote wrongly this time (likely) then next time (4 people) the correct action is not to vote.

I wonder if they'll work that out?

I did mention that in my ramblings - the problem is that Sharp Suit and Joans are going to be 2 of the people left and I dont think they will even bother to vote.
