Ian Fairies is next up under Jock's ministrations. It doesn't take long to get the location of the van out of him, he may be a hardened kidnapper, but stroking him, showing him pictures of bunnies and puppies and telling him "everything was going to be alright" is what broke him in the end.

<Cut to Jock pulling open a van door and seeing Kima trussed up inside. Hugs all round, and they walk off into the sunset together>

<Cut to Mr Russell, polishing his FBI badge, all alone in his apartment. A tear in his eye as he looks at a photo of him and TheFireFaerie together on their last day at the academy>

<Cut to KovacsC going about his daily business, not a clue in the world that anything actually happened around him>

<Cut to Zaphod79 walking into a darkened CTU building, everyone has gone home, he just needs to go to his office and pick up his briefcase.
He opens the door and steps inside.
The light switch doesn't seem to work.
Strange, that was only changed last week, he thinks to himself.
He hears a rustle and Malc74 steps out of the darkened corner, blade glinting in the moonlight from the window...>

<Cut to black>

<Credits roll up the screen>

<BEEP BEEP BEEP>

Ian Fairies was the final kidnapper. Well done Jock (and the town).
KovacsC was a Townie
Mr Russell was the FBI agent
Zaphod79 was the Head of CTU

and Malc74 was the Assassin.

Assassin
You have been set a target, you must take out the head of CTU
Win condition - kill the head of CTU
Secondary win - all good guys dead
Action - kill
Alignment - Bad

Congratulations to Malc74 for (finally) reaching his win condition!
Well done to Craster for forcing the role claim and outing Zaphod right at the very end to help him :D

Good game all, hope you enjoyed it :)

Yay! Can I claim a win there? My win condition was all bad guys dead, and I investigated Malc74 so would have been throwing him over to Jock today.

The town won, but so did the assassin. He did his job, he was off after that anyway. His secondary win only would have kicked in if the head of CTU was taken out by someone else other than him :)

But yes, you can claim a win if you like ;)

Aw, man! Tomorrow was supposed to be the day where I pulled the big switcheroo, decided that I'd met my win conditions, and wasn't interested in helping the useless FBI and CTU guys any more. I was going to team up with the SK, and interrogate Russ, then stride off into the sunset with my pet Serial Killer in tow.

Yay! Trooper will confirm that I almost offed Zaphod two days ago, but changed my mind and went with DavPaz instead. Like a ninny. And then decided yesterday that I wasn't suspicious of Zaphod any more.

Still, all's well that ends well. (Except for the victims of my aimless blundering, of course.)

Thanks to Trooper for arranging this. If my fellow kidnappers killed Russ like I asked on day 1 we could have shanked that dippy fittie! Great stuff.

It was a bit lacking in "stuff to do" if you were a townie.

I think I may have helped kill conversation a bit by coming in with the names of two baddies straight off the bat, which is why I held back a bit after that.

Not really sure why. At no point was I just going to horn off and interrogate someone I picked for myself, so the usual requirement for the town to talk and extract information was still there.

I suppose you do lose some of the tension of trying to get a vote with the requisite numbers by a deadline.

I thought it was an interesting experiment at least.
Our games generally go along the lines of voting out the most talkative and then realising that and going for the quietest. I thought it would be interesting to see what happened if the only way any information could be gleaned was by people talking. Would that actually make people talk more?

It turns out that it didn't :D

Good to know though, it was fun, but I don't recommend we do another game without voting as it did make it a quiet game.

Maybe we should think about re-running an old game at some point, we could do a vote on all the games we have played and see which ones people enjoyed the most, then pick one of them. A greatest hits of mafiascum if you like...

:D

All my games start off in my head as vanilla, but I get bored before I even start.

I really enjoyed the blind scum game, and I really enjoyed running the UN scum game, but that would be a bit tricky to run again now everyone knows about the spy.

Blind was brilliant, 24 was brilliant. I didn't like the UN one, because there weren't really any 'bad guys' so the dynamic was totally different.

Was Killer Scum the anonymous one where I kept screaming "don't lynch anyone!" for the whole game and the cretins just wouldn't do it? I never played Blind, would be up for trying it if it is repeatable.

I wish I could get at my old PMs from my TheAlbinoKid account and retrieve the "close to finished" version of Monkey Island Scum me and Myp had cooked up... I can't remember much of what we worked out, but it was mental.

The best part of Blind Scum was the stuff between Craster and Slightly Green.

I liked Amnesia Scum, which is essentially Double Blind Scum.

(Blind = no roles known to the general population, but you know your own roles
Double Blind = no roles known to anyone, nobody knows their own role)

Yes, and where we made it *harder* for people to talk. I remember actually making myself shake writing up what happened to Malc.
We probably couldn't do it again because of the ending.

I fucked up because I misread the message where my win condition changed!

I've mostly forgotten what happened, to be fair. I know some people had to decide for themselves if they'd won or not.

What changed about your win condition, Malc?

[edit]Cor, it was three years ago!

It went from being on the town's side, to being selfish and wanting to survive by any means possible.

and I sacrificed myself for the town win :(

Yeah, it was the game me and Grim... ran jointly where people were posting via text messages under different forum accounts. You were voting for people to get murdered by the Saw-ish serial killer. The win condition was "no-one is voted for", as Alberto guessed but no-one went along with until most of you were massacred. And we wrote some awesome death scenes.

It was the favourite game I've run.

Favourite game I've played was RevOwen's Batman one, ArkhamScum.

I just couldn't get into that one, which was a bugger because I was the head bad guy.

My favourite was actually your Vampire one, mainly because I did well in it ;)
Favourite to run was either the Marvel heroes one or the Cylon one - probably the Cylon one to be fair. No-one used the radio! It was right there!
