Hopefully there'll be some awesome unveilings, but I wouldn't be surprised if they talk about Gears of War 2 some more and mention a Wiimote rip off.

I predict (aka have read about):

1) Avatars System
2) Possible Non shitty new OS to replace the crappy stuff we've currently got.
3) Wii knock off (but will it be undermined by the Wii Remote++ thats coming?)
4) Lots of boring stuff about Gears of War, Halo etc.

I would like to see something about Alan Wake too.

I'm working at uni, And bored. And I've bandwith coming out of every orifice. And I bored. So I'm going to try to get a live video feed. Any recommendations?

I reckon there's almost definitely a Wiimote copy, why else would Nintendo release info about their Wiimote++SUPER+** the night before their press conference and before Microsoft's?

I think E3insider does that, but I'm not sure. It's ran by Gametrailers, and they tend to be pretty generous with videos. If not, they'll at least supply highlights later tonight I'm sure.

Is that this?

http://e3.gamespot.com/live.html?om_act=convert&om_clk=livesched

Either way apparently this gives you a live feed.

Oh and agree on the wii remote thing. Though I hope Microsofts isn't that device that's been doing the rounds. Because it looks ghastly (cheapo cardboard tube). Fair enough it's a prototype though.

Watching the feed (whilst working). If you forgive the imposition, I'll jot down anything interesting I notice. A sort of Beteo/BEEX pseudo Live blog.

So far -
  • Resident Evil 5 will come out in Europe on March 13th (same as states).
  • Fable 2 is finished, and has terrible voice acting, and Peter loves himself. Out october.

Gears of Wars 2 - November something.
Most interesting is "hoard mode" a 5 player co-op where it's you vs endless hoard of locusts.

Co-op Resi? Fuck yeah! Might make it a little less scary, though. Which is ideal because I don't like shitting my pants. Fuck yeah!

Yeah, co-op looked spiffy. Not sure if I want to play it instead of or after completing it in single though...

The most fun I had with GoW was playing it through with Grim... for the first time, no idea what was coming up.

With GoW2, I'd want to play it coop to start with, preferably with other people who were similary clueless.

I totally I agree, but I was actually talking about RE5. Scary thrills work better alone me-thinks.

(It seems they are preping the Wii thefts)

Yep. New OS. With Avatars.

Aye, the Rare clip was embarrassing. "Were else but Xbox live [could you get Mii's]" will become a meme. It has too.

New OS looks a lot better though. But god MS steal so openly.

Viva Pinata now features stuff you have to buy (I guess) and then show to the camera.

84 songs in RB2, all master tracks + 20 free DLC bonus songs. By the sound of the songs and bands mentioned, that leaked tracklisting is pretty accurate. Backwards compatibility with original RB DLC we already knew about. "Almost all" of the original RB songs can be exported into RB2 so no need for disc swapping.

Does that make MGS and GT the sole remaining bit of Sony exclusive gaming?

God of War, Little Big Planet. Anything the ICO lot make.

They've still got decent exclusives.

I fucking hate the PS3/360. I can (just about) understand the Wii being a different console. But two companies can't release 99% identical consoles with 99% identical line ups. Just give up, and join together please.

God no, the net result would be Sony fucking up the 360.

You do also realise the lack of competition would mean all consoles would be £600 too right?

In my dream world Nintendo carry on as is, and PS3/360 becomes a standard device like a DVD player that anyone can manufacture.

Let me dream.

Apparently:

Quote:
Here's the full deal:

Here is a look at some additional features you will find interesting:

· Play from hard drive. Copy your games from the game disc and play directly from the hard drive. Not only will the drive not spin, but load times are quicker, as well. Of course, you will still need the disc in the tray to prove you own the game.

· Access Xbox LIVE Marketplace on the Web. Browse and purchase Marketplace content whenever you want from Xbox.com and it downloads automatically to your console. Purchase that new map, television episode, the latest Xbox LIVE Arcade game or set up a movie to watch when you get home from work.

· Dashboard built into the new Xbox Guide. For everyone who loves the blades interface, it’s not going away; they are now built directly in to the new Xbox guide. Every feature and option is available right from the guide. You can even access your full games library at all times. No matter where you are (in dash or in game), immediately call up your games played list and directly launch a game.

· LIVE Party system. Create a party of up to eight friends, and stay with them from one game to another, or watch a Netflix movie together, or share a slideshow of your personal photos. It works with all Xbox 360 titles, not just upcoming games. LIVE Party allows up to eight people to chat in the dashboard, so you can meet up before playing.

· Xbox LIVE Primetime. This whole new category of games is going to give you more reasons to get online with your friends. Games will support everything you’d expect, like Achievements and leader boards, but many of these games will include real prizes. You can invite your friends, and even set a reminder for an upcoming show. Each game is broadcast simultaneously, so everyone is answering the same questions. Many events will have a live host, calling the shots as they happen.

· Avatars. Your online identity started as a Gamertag - it then grew into a personalized Gamercard. Now, it has evolved even further into avatars. You can express your style, check out new outfits and share this with the community. Avatars will also be integrated into Xbox LIVE Arcade games, LIVE Party, as well as retail games.

· New display support. Because you asked for it, we are adding 16X10 over VGA or HDMI, and support for 1440x900 or 1680x1050.

They would be cheaper yes, most likely PC game prices, so £34.99 instead of £39.99 on launch.

I saw it going in the feed and it is very grey, but presumably that can be changed.

It's so much cleaner than the disgrace of the blades system though. I've got big hopes for it.
