I have just built my works laptop with Win 7.. the damn thing is currupt.

It won't -
1) open device and printers
2) Task creater has stopped working - pops up after reboot.

Can this be fixed or am I best, downloading the build disks again and re-imaging.
Is it easy to check ifteh ISOs are ok I do hvae a copy of teh md5.

If you've only just built it, may as well start again. Anything obvious in the event logs?

Try safe mode. That'll at least tell you if it's a driver issue

You should probably get an IT professional to help you with this. Maybe in your own company.

I know, but it takes a bloody day... :) (Backup data, rebuild, patch, encrypt, install all corp software (visio etc), restore data)

Hence I was asking for an 'alternative' Looks like I have a fun saturday again :)

I think you totally missed the irony of my comment, never mind. Maybe you don't know what I do...

While it's incredibly 'fun' diagnosing and fixing faults, if it's going to take you longer to do that than rebuild in the first place, then it's the right thing to do. How long have you tried fixing it now, more than a day? You could have had it reimaged by now.

Also, if you don't support your own laptop, why are you building your own laptop?
