Not really a 'nay', more of a ' :belm: :DD ':

I went to bed early last night as I was pretty tired and fancied reading some more of my book. The book in question is a HP Lovecraft compendium (Necronomicon) and it's chunky and heavy.
Mrs Z and Baba Z II were already asleep so I turned on my side light at it's lowest setting (it has 3!) and tried to get in a position where I could hold the book comfortably and get enough light from the dim lamp. I eventually found that by lying flat on my back with the book above my face was the best way. After a few pages my eyes were getting heavy, and I kept on having to read back over the last paragraph or two.

The next thing I knew I was smacked in the face by the weighty tome as I'd completely fallen asleep with the book still over my head in my arms. Fucking numpty.

I only had one bottle of Henry Westons Vintage Cider, honest!

I have a bedtime story that is to do with Mrs T :hat:

It was a calm, humid night, sounds of the traffic drifted through the open window, the occasional seagull screamed its love song. I could smell the sea, everything was right with the world.
Mrs T and I were snuggled down in bed, all comfy like. Light was still on, Mrs T was drifting off to sleep so I reached up and turned off the light.

"AAAAIIIAIAIEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHH" shouts Mrs T!

"Prithee dear, whatever is the matter?" I exclaim.

"I'm blind" shouts Mrs T... "Wait, you turned the light off didn't you?"

:DD

Turns out she had her eyes closed and didn't hear me turn off the light, when she opened them she thought she had gone blind :belm: :luv:

Oh another bed related story. An ex work mate of mine had a bed that was the same height and next to the window sill in his room at his parents. His room was at the front of the house too. He went to bed after a night out completely starkers and woke himself up because his bare arse ended up being pressed against the glass of the window. At noon.

Mrs W often falls asleep with her book open and the bedside light left on. Sometimes she drops the book at some stage and it will hit the floor with a little thud, which seems a lot louder during the still of the night.

our 1 year old has discoverd she can reach the light switch from her bed, the click-clack is a bit annoying and we now often find her sleeping with the big light on
but it's not a 'nay' thing because she still sleeps and sleeping babe = yay

what IS thuroughly 'nay' though is snot
babe gets snot, mom gets snot, dad gets snot, babe gets new snot etc.
I have to buy new tissues on my way home

dropping the book on your own head is awesome, I am going to have to tell that story of when I get home :D

Er mods...

You've left my mates arse in the window.

Edit: The book must have done more damage than I thought.

I read of a footballer who complained to the club's physio that he was suffering from having a wet head in the mornings. This went on for some time, with the physio flummoxed as to what the actual problem was. Until the player told him it was worse in the mornings, and showed where he slept. By the window, that he liked to have wide open in the night. Footballers, sometimes not the brightest.

I once woke up one morning to see something in the air above my face about 70cm above where my head was laying on the pillow. I only just had a few seconds to think 'Wait... is that... is that my hand?' before my arm collapsed and my own hand hit me hard in the face.
