OK, we got a great turnout for this Monday night. So what I want to do is put up a poll and let you guys pick the next game. I don't think it should be a driving game as we have quite a few of those in the list...let's at least alternate driving, non-driving.

So, pick the games you want to play Monday 23rd before Friday...leaving people the weekend to buy games should they need to. I've made use of the Europoll voting system that my lovely assistant Grim... made earlier, so make sure you vote in order. That lets us make another vote rather than voting for the "2nd most wanted" to make sure something you don't like doesn't win. Use your votes properly!

Chat in the thread is welcome and encouraged, so if you're not sure about how a game would play...for instance Uno has a max of 4 so we'd need more than one room...ask and suggest before you vote.

P.S. please don't vote unless you are pretty sure of turning up...

The number in brackets in the most players a full "room" in the game can hold before we need a second.

I think Table Tennis could be fun, but I prefer something where we can all banter each other up.

I quite like the idea of Texas Hold 'Em, as the Vision Cam is used to pretty good effect. Other than that I quite like the idea of Prey, and The Darkness.

What's with numbers next to each game? Until I finished voting I assumed it was the number of votes each option had received so far...

It'll probably be something to do with the amount of players a game can have in a game at once, or something.

I can lend you Saints Row, Prey, The Darkness, Table Tennis or Texas Hold 'Em if need be, as I'm busy playing other stuff at the mo.

Thanks man, but I have a serious backlog of other stuff to get through. I'll only play what I have for these obs nights (I could be swayed to buy worms though).

Why isn't Doom on the list?

And Uno! Mentioned in the description but not in the poll...

Come on chaps, we can't have a list of umpteen games in the poll. We can save those for another week. Well done Sheepeh: not only for an excellent night last night; but also for giving us the choice of what we want to play next week. I applaud your efforts.

How can Rockstar Table Tennis support eight players? I don't understand.

It works in a tournament stylee, I believe. I'd imagine rounds are played all at once with the winners going on to play the next rounds. But I haven't tried.

Doom was meant to be on the list, actually. I forgot to add it. But people have started voting now so it'd be unfair to add it - it'll be on the list next week. Uno was mentioned purely as an easy way of describing the 4 player limit to a room, whereas Texas Hold Em can do 8...clearly Hold Em is more suited to out banter style nights.

I was wary of putting too many games on the list, or it'd be far too messy.

What about the people who lose in the first round? That'll be four people twiddling their thumbs while we wait for the semi-finals and final to be played...

According to the manual it's a timed Round Robin. So everyone is always playing a game (as long as there's an even number, I guess). First to 5 points with a margin of 1, or whoever wins when the timer runs out.

Looks like Table Tennis, with Hold'Em still in contention.

Are there many people left who haven't voted and want to?

I'm looking forwards to the table tennis, despite it being one of the most annoying games I have ever played. I hope everyone else finds the controls as infuriating and counter-intuitive as I do!

Speaking of annoying games, I dunno if anyone else has it, but if they do then Smackdown vs Raw 2008 could be featured. It's certainly annoying as all hell, but a laugh when playing with people you know.

Worms is in 3rd, one point behind Hold'Em.

Although it might not have been when I posted before, as I didn't realise it was that close.

I have to admit, I'm entirely unenthused about playing table tennis. It hardly seems like a particulary social game.

It'd only take one 4 point vote for Worms or Poker to push them in to the lead...

I'd happily play Puzzle Fighter, if only to try and whore some achievements. But also because I love it, and don't dare play against randoms from beyond the Live as they will either crush me or bore me.

Puzzle Fighter is mega-aces, and I seem to be able to beat pretty much all the randoms...I don't think I'm that good to be honest so you may indeed stand a chance. Do feel free to send an invite if you see me about though, I need a little break from Coddy-woddy-foursies every now and then!

So, who is playing?

(Assuming it got only 4 point votes, which is obviously flawed, that still means 9 and a half people want to play)

I'm not a fan of the control mechanism, and the order of button and direction pressing. Given the fraction of a second movements, if the ball is to the left, and I want to hit it to the right, just before hitting it my character will take two massive steps to the right. Or, just after I hit it to the left, my character will continue to take two lunges to the left, leaving him hopelessly out of position.

Also, against the better computer players, they return pretty much any smash I can muster. Even if they have to move about eight times faster than that character can move when I am controlling them.

Also, that 'focus' thing, or whatever it is called... it didn't seem to ever actually do anything.

It does appear that very few people actually seem willing to say they're playing, even though they voted to play it.

I'm happy to play Table Tennis. I voted for it because it's the only one I own along with Saints Row (and the multiplayer on that is broken as far as I know).

I voted Worms 3rd, as I was willing to take a punt on it if it ended up the overwhelming favourite.

It needs the option to not use your remaining votes, really.

I did vote for Table Tennis, in last place, simply as I only have 4 of the games, and wasn't planning on buying any of the others.

If I'd been allowed to scratch the vote, I would've, putting it equal with Holdem.

If I'd known the least popular, It would've gone to that, because it wouldn't have counted towards anything, but you can't look at the results until you've voted.

The reason I asked for a whos playing thing is that you need an even amount of people, and I'd join depending of if I was needed, much though I don't think it's a game that really lends itself to group play at all. it's a one on one game.

(ALthough if Dimrill is laying Burny Pee, I'd probably jump ship to that, as that's a truely excellent game)

Despite the flaws, I would like to play it against a human opponent, as I believe the flaws would be evened out. Playing as a spacker against a spacker is more fun than playing against a good computer person that consistently whups you.

Plus, it is comedian Daniel Kitson's favourite game.

i want Top Spin 2 on the next non-driving game poll. It's a much more fun game and about £5 now.
