I bought this ages back and installed it and never played it. I decided to last night, and put the disc in the drive and the screen appeared offering me options to 'Uninstall', 'Play' or view the readme or some websites.

I clicked 'Play' and nothing happened at all. I'm sure I've the minimum specs:

Athlon 200+
Radeon 9800Pro
0.75 Gig Ram
Hard Drive space.

Am I being a mong, or is my computer not good enough as the box seems to suggest otherwise?

So it's definitely installed?

I seem to recall something about this. I'll check my sources later and see if I can come up with something.

From memory (at work) Rome: Total War doesn't auto-play when you insert the CD. You have to click on the desktop icon when the CD is in the drive.

So it's possible that Medieval is the same.

this is a game that is so lovely but at the same time so time consuming. I stopped playing it because of that
