Hi,

I'm having a clear out and I'm getting rid of some DVDs that I'm never going to watch again. I have a selection of Manga (or Anime, I don't know the difference) DVDs and wondered if anyone would like to buy some/or all of them off me?

Here they are:-

Urotsukidoji III - The return of the over fiend
Urotsukidoji IV - Infernal Road
Shadow Skill
Metropolis (2 discs)
Ninja Scroll
Ghost in the shell
Perfect Blue

And the following are still sealed and come in nice cardboard type sleeves..

Neon Genesis Evangelion
Vampire Hunter D
Akira (2 discs)

I don't really know how much they're worth and how much I'd want for them so feel free to make me an offer! I'm guessing they're worth a couple of quid each?

I'll probably charge a pound or two for postage within the UK but if you buy more than one, I'll reflect this in the final price.

And finally.. here's the picture of them!

I'd like them (except for Ghost In The Shell, which I have).
Erm - I have no idea how much they're worth either. £30 all in?

£30 would seem an excessive offer so I'd say TheVision should snap that up right away.

Grim... It's up to you if you'd like them. I've just had a look on the Royal Mail website and it reckons it'll cost about £6 to send so if you want them, they're yours for £36 all in.

That's standard first class by the way... it'll be a little extra if you want recorded.

How about we meet in the middle and go for £33.

Is where I should harp on about how you're getting a great deal including 3 sealed DVDs? Something about me not even selling them to a family member for that much?

It would be if Nirejhenge hadn't stitched you up. £31.50.

TheVision you're selling them too cheap! Is that Akira sealed? That's worth about £40-50!

Stiched who up sorry? :S

Nirejhenge - Really? Worth that much?!? Ok, I may have to reconsider this whole proposition.

Grim.. would you be so kind as to let me have a little think about this and do my research.

He's having you on, fewl. Didn't you see the first post?

OT: Hey Nirejhenge! What's the law on selling age-rated things second hand?

You're not allowed to sell anything age restricted to people below that age. That's it.

I'm not having you on about Akira

The corrected price including postage, without Akira would be about £33.

You can't sell Ninja Scroll! It's much better than Akira. There, I said it.

That is the single disc version though. Not sure if that makes much difference.

None of those because if you look closely at what the seller says, it's the 'free with a magazine' style.

It makes a huge difference. There's the other edition of Akira starting at £20 new on Amazon but there's always the chance someone would bite at the £50 for that particular version.

The difference is where it's selling. Ebay is a crap place to sell. It's still only potential money but you never know.

I think I'd best reconsider my original offer and keep hold of Akira... Sorry Grim... but blame Nirejhenge. He has opened my eyes.

Alrighty. £30 delivered for the rest.

Is yours a weird version then? Because it looks just like the version you can get from Play for £10 (which I will probably do).

After the millions I made out of my deal with you it's the least I could do.

The one at £10 on play is the version free with the magazine. I've got some of those in stock if you fancy one.

They look like this:

You effectively bought me a drum kit, so I'm not complaining.. it's the best thing I've ever bought and I've got a lot more use out of it than I would have done with those DVDs.

Plus, I had a lovely day out in Doncaster! Everyone's a winner!

They're yours! I'll PM my paypal details over if that's how you'd like to pay, if not then let me know.

I'll get them sent out as soon as I can this week.

As for my Akira.. I haven't a clue what version it is. It's 2 discs and sealed which I suppose means something?

As far as the valuation of Akira 2 disc goes, it could have the best subtitle translation. It may be that they're all a bit rubbish compared to the VHS. I don't know.

All I know is it lists at £50 though it might not sell at that.

No. Play advertise the 2 disc but the PlayTrade sellers are selling different versions. Which they specify in their description.

I think.... no, I'm pretty sure... I had the same Akira DVD double-disc set that The Vision has. My wife - bless her - gave it away to charity along with a load of my other stuff.

It's certainly not the subtitles. I've got that version and, far as I recall, the subs are actually just a transcription of the dub, rubbish. A quick look at the amazon seller's shop reveals he's a bit of a chancer. Stuff like the Cube Trilogy Box set for £80, when it's barely worth half that.

I've got the same version of Ghost in the Shell too. That one's notable for the audio track being out of sync for the whole film. And those versions of Urotsukidoji are from the BBFC's more scissor-happy times. Return of the overfiend has quite a few scenes trimmed or entirely excised, whereas Inferno Road's missing at least one entire episode along with countless other cuts and makes almost no sense.

Being a chancer is the way to make money..

That's how I sell videos for £50..

Other sellers have the 'ultimate' edition (still just 2 disc) starting at £20.
