Does anyone watch this? I can't say I'm an avid fan, but I do kind of vaguely follow the Poole Pirates and I'm dismayed to find that they might be dropping out of the Elite League in protest over the league deciding mid-season to reduce the number of teams in the play-offs from six to four. Surely this is moving the goalposts a bit? It's like saying to Everton, Aston Villa and Fulham, 'oh yeah, finish in the top 6 and you'll be guaranteed a spot in Europe. Oh wait, we've changed our minds and it's only the top four now'.

Rubbish.

The only time I ever hear about speedway is when the local media mention the Stoke Spitfires and it's usually about them having no money.

Surely this is moving the goalposts a bit? It's like saying to Noddy Holder, "Shit on this glass table while I lay underneath it and you and the band can stay rent free. Oh wait, I've changed my mind, that fringed freak on guitar can fuck off".

Shit.
