There's a major weakness in the electoral system right there. MPs can't be 'fired' by the commons because they are theoretically employed by their constituents, but their constituents also lack any kind of disciplinary oversight.

To say I have no love for the Tories is like saying Jordan likes the odd bit of publicity. But the sheer breathtaking incompetence of Labour is absolutely unbelievable. You've got two Cabinet ministers resigning purely so they don't get pushed first. Brown is going to get rid of his Chancellor for the heinous crime of not being able to fix the mess that the Prime Minister himself helped to create. Is there actually going to be anybody left? I think the list of Labour MPs who are "standing down at the next election" after being caught with their hand in the cookie jar is nearly 20.

And all this before a major election.

I don't want to sound like one of the fuckwits on Comment is Free*, but Browns leadership has been an unmitigated disaster.

*Although the comment "Is it true that Susan Boyle has phoned Brown to see if he is OK" made me laugh.
