Did anyone else just see that little opera-singing girl drop the ball and start sobbing into her microphone? Fucking awesome car crash TV, and I doubt it was even staged (unlike the little boy that sung the "wrong" song, and the mother-in-law that went on stage to shout at Simon, and the two "friends" who played violin and keyboard).
It'll be all over YouTube really soon - it was great :D

In weird news, that Boyle woman has "been moved to a safe house"

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/edi ... 073920.stm

Quote:
Britain's Got Talent star Susan Boyle has been moved to a "safe house" as she prepares for Saturday's final.

One judge, Piers Morgan, confirmed that she had become so "distraught" at negative media headlines this week that she almost quit the ITV show.

He said the singer from West Lothian was now relaxing with one of her closest friends from Scotland.

A former psychologist for Big Brother said she should be withdrawn from the contest to protect her mental health.

Obviously, because shows like this couldn't be more fixed, they've somehow found "time" for her to have another go at the end of the show, even though the juggling guy wasn't allowed to finish his act. Want her in the final much?

Not being a completely stone-hearted cynical cunt, I felt a fair bit sorry for her.

Bah, no meltdown this time. She wasn't very good though. Usual pandering shit from Ant and or Dec, and the judges saying what Cowell has told them to say. God, I hate this kind of TV show.

I can't say I've heard many ten year olds singing better than that.

Not that I often hear ten year olds singing.

True story for you.

Laura Sadler was an actress on Holby City. She died, falling 40 feet from a balcony during a party. Amanda Holden couldn't attend the funeral, but sent a wreath, with a handwritten note saying "look at stars, look how they shine for you".

Obviously, the lyrics are from Coldplays "Yellow".

Laura Sadler died falling 40 feet from a balcony.

The song "Yellow" appears on the album "Parachutes".

What kind of bird can't fly? That bird from Casualty.

One of my favourite jokes there, thanks for allowing me the opportunity of using it again.

I didn't notice, but I wasn't paying an awful lot of attention. What did register sounded good, though.

Why are the boy dance groups so good and the girl dance groups so... average?

Dunno, I didn't watch them. That freak guy that did Barcelona was rubbish right up until the last ten seconds, when he blew me away.

[edit] Like what Cowell has just said

News at Ten seemed to have picked up the story quite fast, and are running a story about putting such young children under so much pressure. I'd imagine they've had it for a while and have been waiting for a chance to run it.

I don't think they should let under 16s on the show. Exploitation of children for money was illegal I thought.

Angered. Poor little cow.

Don't be a wuss. There's a long history of child stars who go on to do well. Lena Zavaroni, Michael Jackson, Drew Barrymore, Judy Garland, Britney Spears.

Believe me, when that child is smacked up to the eyeballs on heroin in 10 years, she'll look back at being on TV with fond fond memories.

I'm pretty sure all the singers are signed up to Columbia Records if they get to the semis.

How does 1 million phonecalls charged at a pound or whatever it costs grab you?

The whole show is about making money for Mr Cowell, not for giving oiks and mortals like us entertainment.

Yeah, I meant *other* than that, like.

For a moment I thought you meant her parents, for some spacky reason. My bad.

I'm not being a wuss man. If that was my daughter I'd have likely decked Cowell.

I just think it's wrong to put a child in a situation like that. Was very upsetting to watch.

EDIT. Mind you if I was her father she wouldn't have been on the show.

This is nothing compared to the proponderance of 4 year old beauty queens in the US (and, to a lesser extent, here).

Hey, at least that'd be consistent. It's probably child abuse that put her there in the first place.

In my defence, I was doing some coding when it came on, and started paying attention at the first sob. And, as I just said on LIVE, no-one can wail like an opera-singing ten year-old who just fucked up.

Oh come on Chinny, Drew Barrymore has done well?

By 13 she was a druggie, an alcoholic and a slut.

Sure she's pulled it together later in life but her mother was a hussy and whored her child out.
