Ive got a PS3, sigh, and I heard there is a Metal Gear Online Beta for everyone, however I've not a clue where you download it, the shop isnt bringing up anything except a bloody wallpaper. help?

Not in Europe you don't, it's a free download here. It certainly was in the store last week when I downloaded it.

I believe that may be the case in the US, but for once Europe's got the favourable end of the dodgy metaphor, since you can theoretically download it without pre-ordering anything. I say "theoretically" because as you quite rightly point out, the Beta download seems to have disappeared from the PSN store.

If you did manage to download it from the store before it disappeared, then good news - you're just two patches (the first of which is painfully slow even via P2P) and a Konami ID registration away from the action.
