Right, I think I've set this up correctly.

Let me know if you can see this and are in the game!

Can someone explain the benefits of a "no lynch" on day one to me, again?

You're extremely likely to kill a good guy. So don't vote.

I personally believe that you should vote, as if you luck out and get a bad guy, you're immediately in the lead. The potential reward is bigger than the risk.

If there isn't a ninja in this game, I will be hugely disappointed with you.

Who has been quiet so far? Why no chatty chat? Object to help team, not stay alive.

I had the role and then forgot to put it in!

There are some cool roles though.

For the record, I've only ever accidently shot myself twice.

I nearly accidentally stabbed myself through the foot the other week.

Fortunately, I have good reactions and don't like getting hit by things.

Rule assist question:

Someone has an ability that can only work on a vanilla townie.

They aimed that ability at the other long lost sibling. Normally this ability would fail, but given the death of the first sibling, the other one is sort of a vanilla townie now.

Should I allow the action to work or not?

If you view roles as townie + bonus you have removed the bonus.

Zaphod had an ability to stuff the town for 2 turns (One killing his target, the other being the inevitable killing him for false info) and maybe cause a premature counterclaim if another cop role existed, assuming he didn't wait for a few turns to divulge information and realise something was a bit fishy. On the whole, I'd say him dying was of benefit to the town, and certainly preferable to losing a vanilla one.

The person who a mafia wants dead != the person they publicly say they want dead.

I'm sure the mafia would love to be in a town of quiet people.

Townie Lovers is an awesome idea. Can you chuck it into the melee if it gets quiet again? I guess the first thing a mafia heats in the game is "say nothing for first few days". We could data mine this. Or offer hidden bonuses for a side for x posts or something. I dunno. Your game and yourrules...

Although I fluked into unstuffing the town it since i investigated Gazchap last night and got told he was not town - so the killing and reveal of him being a townie would have (i feel) been enough to convince me I was either a rubbish investigator or that someone else had blocked me - I would *not* have been coming forward saying to lynch my choice :-)

Reading through things this morning i'm slightly on the side of Alberto and think Grim...'s coming across as very desperate in what he's trying to do so my vote would be with him.

To make matters more amusing, t'other cop also investigated Gaz. We could have had a cop-off!

Oh and a note here for when things finish and we start on about the lynch / no-lynch on day one - in this game it rid the town of a Mafia person who could have corrupted and turned a townie to their side so a very good result (yes I realise it could also have randomly hit the real cop and killed them but thats the risk that was being taken)

I wonder why the hell everyone went for little old me? Oh well, can't be helped.

I figured Squirt was a baddie as soon as he made the "accident" comment, it just smacked of someone who hadn't read the intro because he knew what it would say anyway - although thinking about it in retrospect, I guess Curio just made up that bit and didn't get any detail from the Mafia, so - lucky guess! :P

I chose you because you seemed to be around enough to take part but not really contribute which made me think possibly baddie - and I figured that Grim... / Trooper were noisy enough that I didn't need to 'waste' an investigation on them because neither will last out the game.

My other 2 choices for investigation were TFF or Davpaz

This makes me think its some wording in the message sent out to say that you were a vanilla townie ?

If it is I dont think thats acceptable metadata to be using ....

(and as I wasnt a vanilla townie that might explain why I cant see it)

BTW Curio do you want to move the dead thread from the 24 game into the old games folder ?

Curio - could you post the 'your a townie' message to this thread please ?

If you don't feel that's appropriate then that's fine - however I'd like to read it then read back through the previous day to see if i have this magic vanilla detector ?

You're on the right track.

It's a bit 'Deadpool', but the genie's out of the bottle now. To admonish would be to validate their argument.

There are very few vanilla townies, and the ones who are make great targets, so on the whole I'd say it isn't giving them an advantage.

Be prepared for Troopers fury then - he's not going to take this well (regardless of him being good or bad) but the fact he's saying that he's vanilla and not using the exact phrasing is just confirming that he's not.

No , there's some phrase in the message that Curio cut'n'pasted to them all telling them their roles that people have slipped into the conversation which is allowing them to identify each other (or some throwaway comment about what their power is as a regular townie)

Theres a problem though because I'd consider that as Meta data which is not allowed as part of the rules :

viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1413

However - Curio's game / Curio's rules and if there really are only a few vanilla's then it may not affect things that much (and as a tactic i think its probably blown now)

Was there not something that Gilly did for this in the past around meta data that really upset Grim... ?

Ultimately my fault for the wording of the vanilla townie role.

However, the way it is playing out is amusing me tremendously.

Grim... being very upset at SDG for cut'n'pasting a message happened in Weddingcrasher scum

viewtopic.php?f=9&t=4901&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=90

Interestingly the start of that page begins with something that Trooper's just done for himself :-)
