One more day, one more body.

This one is found near the fairground, a bullet through his head.

It's Bobbyaro.

Ransacking his place turns over a crystal ball, some tarot cards and some lucky heather.

Bobbyaro was a Recruited Carney, who was also the Townie Psychic

[playerlist]
zaphod79
ApplePieofDestiny
Joans
Trooper
sinister agent
Alarm
Gilly
Mr Russell
LaceSensor
KovacsC
[/playerlist]

With 10 people left, six votes are needed for a lynch.

Night falls at 4pm Wednesday

Also, we fucked up bad yesterday, but at least someone seems to know what's going on.
Also, also, why am I still alive?
Also, also, also, I still have lots of Stella here, anyone want any?

Bar's a bit empty today. Ok, so what do we have then...

Carnies:
Night 1 - recruit gnomes, who died
4 more recruits
Craster was a recruit, and so was Bobbyaro.
So Lace is one of two possible recruits, or the original leader.

I think we're still better off hitting a known carney, rather than guessing at the mafia, at the moment, but nobody else is going to kill the mafia for us, so we need to do it at some point.

Wow , I still cant believe your around Joans - and I'm glad you've spotted another carnie - and one i've been suspicious off since the very start (I will be kicking myself if he's the bloody lead no matter how he spells fare!)

If you were recruited by the carnies I cant see why you'd tell us lace is a carnie and not a mafia - so i guess its vote for lace.

[vote:Lacesensor]

I'll have a Stella in memory of dear ol' departed Grim...

Oh and if the numbers are correct - we're f*cked already so may as well drink up.

10 people left alive , and more than 1/2 are not townies so we're not getting out of this with anything other than a ph-wasisname victory

And interesting that Bobby knew who he chose and who got the psychic stuff so he became a useful pawn for the Fairground when he was recruited - might also explain why the psychic message people stopped coming forward - it will have been one of the other fairground people who got the message.

Not necessarily, there's a max of 3 carnies (assuming they started with 1), and hopefully only 3 mafia, so that does mean 4 townies at the moment.

But 6 needed for a lynch tonight , and if we kill lace and he's not the original carnie then there will be probably 3 mafia probably 3 carnies and only 2 townies left tomorrow.

I'll have another drink please bartender !

I think we need to take out the mafia. It seems quite clear to me that the mafia are (quite sensibly) trying to find the carny leader, so we should just let them take care of the carnies.

We're pretty fucked at this point either way, except that if we get the leader, the mafia have basically won as they can pick us all off at their leisure, whereas if we get a mafia or two, they will still have to go after the leader as the bigger threat, but they might hit the leader and give us a fighting chance.

So if Lace is a carny, I'm thinking, let the mafia have him. It's in their best interests to hit the carnies before hitting townies.

So I'm thinking maybe [vote: Alarm].

I pretty much agree with all this, but we have to make sure we hit a mafia (or at least not a townie).

Your suspects are:
Zaphod79
ApplePieofDestiny
Alarm
Gilly
& Mr Russell

with everyone else (with the exception of LaceSensor) being a townie at some point in their existence, and therefore presumably, not a mafia.

There's also the possibility that you've been mafia all along. The only proven information we have from you is that Craster was a carny, but bluffing that wouldn't have been a big risk given how obvious a move it was for the carnies to recruit him after lots of people said he was a townie.

But I don't think that's likely enough at this point.

Same way I did - enough people were saying that he was a townie to make him an obvious target.

We don't know you do yet. It's all the same to the mafia, one less townie to worry about. But like I said, I don't think it's very likely, just possible.

I'm really shocked that Malc wasn't a carney, I think a lot of us had convinced ourselves he was. Bobby being the psychic and recruited explains why the visions stop, he was managing to convince me yesterday that he was a townie. I still think alarm is a baddy, as well as lace who I had suspected and mentioned such(and this is now proven), and Mr Russell. I agree we need to kill mafia today. The mafia must surely want to kill carnies and then go head to head with confused townies for the Lynch votes but we can't afford the carbies to keep recruiting. I'll go with either lace, or a mafia if we can be sure who it is. I don't know why joans is still alive unless the mafia had figured something out about bobby and had decided hitting him was a bigger gain and worth the risk of them being investigated. I had hoped you'd investigate me joans, but I'm glad now you found a carney!
I'm busy making hats so can't check everything properly but what's the numbers, can we win this?

Do we know if the head carney is killed, if the recruitees return to being normal folk?

If that is the case, we can win if we get the head.

You are still alive as you are potentially Mafia, or at least a tool for the Mafia who would be risking you finding Carneys for them.

I'm happy to [vote:unvote] for now too.

Presumably our ideal lynch for today is the head carney?

It's intriguing that if there is a mafia roleblocker, not only are they not killing me, they're not blocking me either.
Maybe they're not mafia?

Based on something someone told me in my bar one day (or maybe it's metadata, I'm not sure), killing the head carney doesn't do anything different to killing another carney. There's the possibility that another one won't be promoted, so we stop their recruitment, but having all the recruits go back to being townies would be a new development.

I think in an ideal world, we'd like to kill off a mafia, with them being kind enough to bump off a carney overnight.

Hang on, a new bit of paper has appeared. It seems Bobby could choose who received his visions, so it makes sense that he sent one to a fellow Carney.

I'm inclined to agree. If we assume that this means the Mafia have two power roles, you're a key target for them. Although, I half expected some 'attention' last night too. Certainly seems that they are keener on the carney than the town folk at the moment.

The mafia, if they have a roleblocker, will be trying to block the carny leader, I'd imagine. Bigger threat.

It's also possible this lock person is just a random troublemaker.

Well, they know where I am anytime they want me, and they will want to get rid of the carnies first and I can help them do that.
But it's one thing to leave me alive while they try and take out a carney, but it's a risky move to leave me alive and let me investigate, so I guess that suggests:
a) They've got the numbers to take the risk, they can kill/block me anytime they want, so if I happen to pick out a mafia, they can afford to let one go.
b) They can't block me.
c) They just want us to think that b) is the case.

At the moment, you're still prime candidate for a good lynching. Wild speculation did us no good yesterday, and although I think we're better off trying to hit the mafia, we'd better not mess it up again.
I don't suppose you've had any failed recruitments you'd like to tell us about?

The biggest threat in these situations is always the killing roles.

Not really, mafia kill, they might kill a townie, they might kill a carney, worst case scenario, townies go down by one.
Carney recruits, might hit a mafia, might get a townie, worst case scenario, townies go down by one and the carnies increase by one.
Your numbers need to be kept in check.

I think its fairly obvious the Mafia all rushed to vote at the start of the proceedings thinking they could sway the vote with a big block, but that backfired when I pointed this out.

Of course Joans isn't mafia, that's not even an issue any more, surely?
I have a hat conference to go to tomorrow and its in an explosive enviroment so I can't have my pphone on me, which means I can't phone the town square.
I can hopefully pop in around lunchtime, and I expect we'll be debating this for a while to try and figure out who to go for. I'm going to [vote:lacesensor] for now but i'll change it if need be.
We need to be careful about choosing our mafia target if that's who we go for because we can't risk to hit a townie.

Quite true, "hasn't found any mafia" has the same effect as "already knows who the mafia are, so doesn't investigate them"

In fairness, if I was mafia, wouldn't I just be insisting we lynch you, rather than trying to identify the remaining mafia?

Well, you did move straight for the name and lynch in your first post.

True, but after some in-depth conversation (with myself) I decided to analyse the situation.

With the Mafia, making a quick backpedal when it was obvious youd all just weighed in on a bandwagon that noone else was ready to jump on.

I think its fairly obvious the Mafia all rushed to vote at the start of the proceedings thinking they could sway the vote with a big block, but that backfired when I pointed this out.

It seems a lot more obvious to me that he's actually right and you're a carny. But I think that just means we should leave you to the mafia, as there's a fair chance you're the leader, and we need to hit the mafia while we still can.

Feel like voting for Alarm then in that case?

End of yesterday:

Quote:
For the record:

Blind Scum Town Square - Day Five
VOTE UPDATE

gilly: 1 (Malc)
alarm: 1 (LaceSensor)
malc: 7 (Trooper, Gilly, Mr Russell, Alarm, ApplePieOfDestiny, sinister agent, Joans)

Not voted: 3 (zaphod79, bobbyaro, kovacsc)

So we have a townie voting for Gilly, a carney voting for Alarm (assuming Lace wasn't recruited last night, but that would mean he was targeted by almost everyone in the game last night), 3 non-mafias (me, Trooper and Sinister) voting for Malc and 2 non-mafias (one of whom was a carney) abstaining.
