If you've just gotten Firefox 3 [and I hope everyone has no browser wank please] and are running XP/Vista, I suggest you download this as an addon.

http://www.piclens.com/

Piclens is truly amazing. It makes browsing for porn pictures of fluffy kittens SO much more fun.

It basically translates websites with lots of picture and/or video content into [ie youtube] a huge 3D wall through which you can scroll like a beautiful online library.

check it out.

I used to have piclens but I hated it. I found it slow and a bit pointless and ended up deleting it. I don't know if this is a newer incarnation that is a lot better, but if it is more of the same I'll give it a miss. I'll have a look when I am on my desktop, but unless it is a major improvement on the last time I tried it and I can see some point in it it will go the way of the last piclens.

I've been trying it out but the sites I go to usually don't seem to allow it.

It would be a lot cooler if it could work with folders on my local drive too.

I have it, and have done for a while. I believe Grim... posted it on WoS, perhaps. I find I never use it though, so I'll probably end up binning it.

It's certainly a very impressive add-on but I rarely use it. I'll show someone, they'll go 'oo!' and then I'll close it till the next time.

It's crashing my firefox like it's been driven by a pissed up hobbit.

Fucker won't even let me in "options" or "Add ons" without crashing.

The only time it crashed mine was when I pointed it at a local hard drive folder with a few thousand in and then scrolled sideways at full speed.

Nah :)

It's just done it again trying to browse local folders, which is what I'd actually like to do with it though, so they've still got work to do.

I've rebooted the PC and it still won't let me access either Add ins or Options without crashing. Re-install-tastic.

Ah, yeah, this all sounds like the last time I tried it.

I think it is something that seems like a good idea but is little use in practice and doesn't actually have the capabilities to work that well, so I think I will pass on trying it again.

It's working ok for me. It's good.

I don't like installing add ons though that aren't through the firefox site. It worries me...

I think it's because of your wee picture on the left Lave, but I do imagine you as a worrier.

I've had Piclens for a while but not used it for even longer. I just tried it and it crashed... It is a cool feature though, It's nice to show off with if nothing else.

Pretty!

And if you're idiot enough to have your entire digital photo library in one folder, it's a much more pleasent way of browsing thumbnails than explorer.

I used to have it, but it's such a memory hog that I never used it, then I got pissed off when I hit the stupid little blue button by mistake. Still, if you're a fan of pretty but useless, you'll probably like this.

Hah, I had that for ages. Wasn't a big fan of the Geforce 6100 in my lappy though.
