I wonder if someone could be kind enough to do me a favour? A couple of days ago there was a programme shown on BBC1 Wales about the Wylfa power station on Anglesey. A friend of mine worked there and was in the programme, and I'd quite like to get a copy of it.

The programme was part of the Red Letter Day series and is entitled Wyfla Anglesey. More here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0110dvk

and iPlayer link here (it is blocked in the library where I am at the moment, so can't check).

If someone could capture the stream (just don't cross them, Luke! Or something) and perhaps upload it as an avi/mp4 somewhere (Megaupload is good for me; or stick it on a CD-R/DVD) and even burn a couple of DVDs for me (I'll cover p&p and cost of the discs, plus a virtual (or real) pint).

I would do this myself if I had the internets at home and I had bothered to get my desktop PC fixed.

If someone could help, that would be fantastic. :)

While I haven't looked too hard for a replacement, the iPlayer "recorder" I use stopped working last year, so you might want want to get your hopes up :(

I've never tried capturing from iPlayer, but I know that the Beeb's boffins have come up with various ways of attempting to prevent people from doing so. :)

Thanks for having a go!

Get_iPlayer http://www.infradead.org/get_iplayer/ht ... layer.html looks the mad note, though!

I used replay media capture last time I had to record something (my bro-in-laws dad on the news) and it seems to be still working. Has to capture it from the browser in close to real-time though, so it'll take a few minutes :)
Hopefully it will be fine once it is captured.

Bloody PC, I knew there was a reason why I switched to OSX.

Starting recording again after crash and blue screen :D

Seems to be working fine though, it should come out as a 300mb flv file and i'll convert it to an avi (assuming I can) and upload them both so you can do whatever you want with either of them :) Don't have any writeable dvds here though i'm afraid.

Awesome news! Separate downloads would be good for me, thanks.

Uploading the original flv now (370mb) it'll take about an hour at my broadband speed :)
I have a same quality avi version which comes out at 700mb and a same quality .264 itunes version at 280mb.

Let me know which ones you want :)

Original flv here
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=TEHUACZE

I'm guessing the full quality avi is probably the most useful to you, as you can play it on anything and convert it to whatever you want, so I'll kick that off and leave it running in the background for a couple of hours. :)

Let me know if you have any trouble, I've kept the originals for the time being :)

You're most welcome, assuming they don't get pulled for copyright reasons or anything! :D
