Why are fullscreen options so rubbish?

In Eve, I've had to use a program called Shiftwindow to enable me to play eve fullscreen on one monitor whilst moving to the other for other apps without the eve display minimizing. This is the only workable solution I've found.

This morning, much as at many other times in the past, I've got my two displays and I want the BBC GP coverage fullscreened in the one, then on the other, whatever else. Does anyone have a way of making it so that I can FS a video or such, then click elsewhere and not have it minimise?

It's from the same antique annoyances list that doesn't let me have different wallpaper on each display in Windows.

Oooh, it's Gerhard Berger!

I don't think so; as far as I know it's an issue with Flash video. I never got it to work when I had two monitors, anyway.

I just put two (well, three) wallpapers together as one big image.

It's appalling Windows 7 still doesn't have multi-monitory wallpaper support in the base OS though.

I share the same full-screen annoyances. Many times I've wanted a video to be full-screen while I'm still working on the main monitor. VLC is fine with it, but I don't think I've ever seen Flash-based things handle it properly.

a) Play in a window but at the same size resolution. (EveMon has a nicfty thing to automagically get rid of the window title bar + borders as well :))

b) DUNNOF1SUCKS

Some PCs can do this, some can't. It's a video driver thing, I think.

Yeah, you replied to my rant on Twitter about this months ago.
