Hmmm, the Conservatives have withdrawn support for two of the betting candidates - Saunders had no chance of winning Bristol North West so that doesn't make much difference but Williams is the incumbent in Montgomeryshire and Glyndwr and that looked pretty likely to go blue. Obviously they've left it too late to actually replace them on the ballot.

Some Labour candidate has now been implicated in the gambling scandal.

Not sure how that works? Surely they're not going to have been privvy to when the election was called, so is it just going to be that a politician made a bet on politics?

Looks like he bet on himself to lose, which is obviously a bloody stupid thing to do.

Although if he's been suspended he almost certainly will lose now, so maybe it's a really smart thing to do?

On a different note, this party is standing in my constituency.

Just had a quick gander at this and when I read this, "We work together as a team with every person in Britain," I immediately realised that this would be very problematic. In fact, impossible. NEXT!

Received this through the door today. So, Ray Nock is the West Brom candidate for Reform, but that’s not our constituency, it’s one over. Lol.

He has a bit of a thing about 'et al'. I am not sure why it's there.

Nothing entertaining here, except that there was a bit of a splurge of advertising from the Tory candidate, and a week or so later there are markedly fewer posters. An encouraging problem in keeping them up, I'm hoping.

Finally received a Labour leaflet.

Also received a personalised letter from the Tory candidate. On the back was a diatribe about the risks of voting Labour, including a warning that if people like me voted Reform, he'd pick up 100s of seats. Hmm.... not sure people like me are their target demographic.

We’ve had a fair number of Labour leaflets. Nothing from the Tories. I’d wondered if they’d just given up TBH. Maybe they like to post out a bit later as their supporters have famously short memories and attention spans.

We get a posted mailshot from the conservatives for each general election.

I say "we", but it comes addressed to me alone despite Helen being on the electoral register as well.
You might think they've picked the first person alphabetically, but for the last one it also included her son who lived with us at the time, so it looks awfully like they are only interested in communicating with men.

She does not find this amusing, and it guarantees they won't be getting her vote (though to be fair their policies and record in power did that too).

I vaguely recall that Gaz and I had that problem a couple of times - we couldn't rule out that it was merely alphabetical in our case but a few other people I know said that the "man" of their house was not first alphabetically and yet received the solo mailshot. Tossers.

We’re lucky because we both get a Tory mailed leaflet for each election. I dislike the paper waste, but do like that we each get a bit of Tory donor money wasted on us so we can put that in the bin.

I’ve just had a look on the Reform Website out of curiosity to see what the candidates look like. Obviously you can’t judge a person by their looks, but of the ones I looked at they collectively looked like thy were either about to drop dead from ill health or like they were used car salesmen. Often both.

"You want a photo, sonny, alright then".

I wonder whether the present tense used for his employment gives a bit more insight into Boeing's problems.

"UKIP delivers it's aims." Punctuation fail.

And then there's a lower case 'ukip.'

CV's get thrown out for less than this.

And he looks like an extra from the Adams Family.

The right-wing press is repeatedly crowing that once elected Starmer would reveal his true form and turn Britain a far-left wing Socialist paradise within the EU.

Wish they wouldn't threaten us with a good time.

I'm not sure I see a problem here?

More seriously, with a large majority, of course they can start to introduce more left leaning policies knowing that this could cost them seats in 2029 if it doesn't work out. If they do that and they actually pick up support as a result, well that's just fine. Given their efforts to distance themselves from Corbyn and Momentum, it doesn't seem likely. We'll just get BAU without the incompentence and malicious home secretaries.

What really boils my piss is that we have nearly 15 years of evidence that austerity was the wrong choice to deal with the 2008 crash (which was a generation ago now in financial terms). Other countries are seeing the benefits of spending towards the future.

Here's a simple equation: Public Spending = Happy Citizens = Prosperous Country

Unless the Right's strategy is to REDUCE IMMIGRATION by making the UK a depressing shithole that no-one would want to flee to.

We had another Reform leaflet drop yesterday (this time for the correct constituency) and a Conservative one. Both used the phrase ‘Stop The Boats’ as a headline. It’s the U.K’s ‘Build The Wall’.

We've got a vote Labour sign in the front garden, seems to be pretty effective at keeping the rancid cunts at bay so far.

No signs in my garden. I'd be glad to find the Tory candidate on my doorstep, then I could tell them what I think of the gang of twats they represent.

When all the entries for this stakeless sweep are in, is there a way of averaging out the forum answers so that we get a sort of aggregate Best BEEX Guess?

I can see we’ve got 8 entrants so far, but I can’t check predictions unless people have screenshotted them here.
It looks like there’s going to be some stats though.

Yes, smallest absolute difference between prediction and the result. got to be absolute otherwise everything will net off to zero.
